DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE GROUP

The Group studies the vegetation of cold and warm Andean deserts of Argentina. Biogeography and Plant Ecology line: Geobotany and biological diversity in the Central Andes, Geosynphytosociology, Ecology of the Monte region: carbon sequestration, litter, floristic structure. Vegetation of protected areas in the central west of Argentina. Biogeography of La Payunia and Monte. Urban Green line: Bioindicators of Pollution. Plant diversity. Invading exotic plants.

  • Transferring knowledge about Xerogardening. Revegetation of degraded areas. Dryland agroforestry.

  • Building of Human resources and publications (Multequina, Scientific Extension Bulletin, Books: Mendoza Ambiental, Diversidad biológica y cultural de los Andes Centrales).
